It is such an honor and pleasure to have my backyard be home to a sweet hummingbird and her nest...and soon to be babies! I let her know today that I intend on helping keep her safe and that I won't let any other birds, or other animals, do anything to harm her or her nest...at least while I'm outside.

I now have 2 days of video to go through and upload to youtube, but since she's just sitting on the nest for most of the time, I've decided to take pictures instead of video.

We have a cute hummingbird who has made her nest in our backyard. I noticed the nest after I saw her fly over to this one area of vines that come over the fence from the neighbors behind us. I have my Sony HX-1 setup on a tripod and have both somewhat hidden in the cactus garden so that I can get in close enough, but not to where she's afraid to go to the nest. Here is the first video from 1/20/2011.
